P'tit Trot Program

Winning Ways is pleased to present the Equestrian Canada Program, P’tit Trot, which is an exciting program for children who love horses and want to learn about riding English and/or Western and caring for horses. Included in the program package is a colorfully illustrated manual and certificates for each level. The children will also enjoy the Game Book that accompanies the manual and they receive a cute back-sack to keep all their materials together. Winning Ways provides quiet school horses from whom the children can learn and practice their riding skills. The P’tit Trot book is fully illustrated throughout and introduces children 5 and over to the basics of English and/or Western Riding and learning how to care for a horse or pony.  The colourful drawings and the amusing antics of P’tit Trot (the name of the mascot pony), help the child discover and learn the ABC’s of riding and how to care for their horse or pony.

Winning Ways will hold Riding lessons in both English and Western riding styles for this program and during the same lesson deliver the Horse Care and Horsemanship aspects. Each of the chapters in the P’tit Trot Manual – Bronze Horseshoe, Silver Horseshoe, Gold Horseshoe and Platinum Horseshoe – cover specific topics on horse care and riding. At the completion of a Chapter the child will receive a Certificate of Achievement.  Completion Goals are outlined in the P’tit Trot Manual at the end of every Chapter. Those students enrolled in the P’tit Trot Program will participate in an Assessment and Awards Day at the end of the Lesson Series.
